Federal Hill Consulting has partnered with a financial organization to identify an Enterprise Architect to work in Washington, DC. 

Job Summary
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of the enterprise architecture program and approach, including the architecture for business, information, solutions, technical and security. The EA will communicate the architectural direction by developing, maintaining and governing the enterprise architecture across the organization. Defines the EA process, architecture review and advisory processes by leading the integration of those processes with related business and IT processes. Applies existing, new and emerging technologies to evolving business and operating models. Understands how to operationalize new technologies following technical standards, specifications and best practices. Responsible for overseeing and implementing architecture-related decisions and activities of modernization as well as working with IT leadership and vendors to validate proposed architecture solutions.
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for helping enable future-state business capabilities that drive the organization's targeted business outcomes through the choice of programs, projects and initiatives. Monitors, manages, and works in collaboration with CSBS peers and technology vendors to achieve program/project objectives and ensure proper controls and oversight are provided.

• Lead the creation and evolution of the enterprise architecture program/function
• Promote and communicate the business value of the EA program/function and its process, and the results of the EA program to business and IT leaders/executives
• Lead the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business strategy and requirements
• Formulate, translate, advocate, support and execute business strategy to achieve the organization's targeted business outcomes
• Lead analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement and driving the business forward
• Lead the development of an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies
• Lead and facilitate the creation of governance, assurance and standards to guide EA decision making
• Ensure that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities are associated with EA compliance
• Oversee the evaluation and selection of EA standards, as necessary
• Oversee EA implementation, continuous improvement and ongoing refinement activities
• Oversee the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work
• Work with infrastructure, project and product teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture
• Identify organizational requirements for the resources and structural changes necessary to support the enterprise architecture
• Lead the development and execution of a communication and education plan for the enterprise architecture

Additional Responsibilities
• Maintain relevant and current professional knowledge via in-house training, online resources, attendance at professional events, and personal investment in continued education and certifications
• Monitor and analyze industry trends and developments to identify potential risks and opportunities as they apply to the enterprise
• Develop and maintain working relationships and collaborate with various vendors and other stakeholders
• Analyze and review existing processes and procedures to identify opportunities that lead to gains in efficiency and security
• Other duties, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed and meet the amount of education, training and/or work experience required.
Education
• B.S. / B.A. degree in Computer Science or equivalent required business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
Experience
• 7+ years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment
• 5+ years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis
• Demonstrated experience as a team lead or technical lead on a project
• Demonstrated experience with business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics
• Significant familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks
• Significant experience writing contract solicitation documents, technical design, system architecture, and other technical documents
• Experience reviewing and understanding strategic and emerging technology trends and applying them to current and evolving business needs and systems architecture
• Experience collaborating with cross functional teams to achieve a shared project goals using waterfall and agile methods and processes
Requirements
• Enterprise Architect Certification strongly desired
• Must be eligible to obtain or currently possess a U.S. Government clearance at the Public Trust Moderate (NACI) level or higher.
• Must be a United States citizen due to government regulations.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
• Ability to successfully articulate short- and long-term plans and influence decisions
• Ability to apply a broad array of technical solutions to address current problems and/or to meet business requirements
• Knowledge of all components of an enterprise technical architecture
• Knowledge of application development methodologies and infrastructure and network architecture
• Ability to translate business needs into EA requirements
• Ability to estimate the financial impact of EA alternatives
• Ability to apply multiple solutions to business problems
• Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
• Practical in approach to decision making and problem solving
Working Conditions
• Office work environment with remote support
• Occasional travel outside Washington D.C. area (1-3 days per quarter)
