The Data Analyst extracts qualitative and quantitative relationships (i.e., patterns, trends) from large amounts of data. Data addressed by this process are limited to data that can be represented either numerically or categorically. Troubleshoots basic problems and recommends appropriate action.

 

Primary Role:

·      Use technology to mine complex, voluminous and different varieties of data from various sources and platforms in order to collect, analyze and compile data to meet customer needs

·      Identify new sources of data and methods to improve collection, analysis and reporting

·      Collect customer requirements

·      Determine technical issues

·      Build data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self service frameworks for data consumers to monitor and report on data

·      Improve the quality of data use and usability by driving an understanding and adherence to the principles of data quality management including metadata, lineage, and business definitions

·      Work collaboratively with Intelligence and Data analysis teams to produce qualitative and quantitative data that support Intelligence Products

 

Basic Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

·      Requires at least three (3) years of experience

·      Design algorithms and data manipulation capabilities using R and Python

·      General understanding of Intelligence Data and how it can be employed

·      Experience with JEMA and/or Machine Shop

·      Experience with dissecting and interpreting large data sets in support of real world operations

·      TS/SCI is required

 

Additional Qualitfications:

·      Able to show value of analytics within business processes

·      Good understanding of current analytic technologies including: SAS, UNIX and JCL

·      Understanding of and appropriate application of the following analytical concepts:

·      Cox/proportional hazards

·      Decision tree analysis

·      Mathematical programming and optimization

·      Neural networks, genetic algorithms, and other computational methods

·      Regression (linear, logistic, multinomial, and censored)

·      Segmentation and clustering

·      Test Design/Design of experiments

·      Bayesian analysis

·      Conjoint analysis

·      Information design/presentation development

·      Principal component analysis

·      Structural equations modeling

·      Time series analysis and forecasting, smoothing techniques

·      Able to implement analytics in business processes

·      Solid quantitative background including proficiency in problem solving, data analysis and modeling

·      Good communication and interpersonal skills a must
