Summary

Technical position responsible for the delivery of audio and video services to staff, third parties, and the public. Supports assigned audiovisual productions of live events, including free and ticketed shows open to the public, Symposiums and other professional conferences, and special events, as well as internal staff meetings and Executive/Board meetings. Supports assigned audiovisual sound/display and presentation systems in theaters, conference rooms, public areas, and any special event spaces both on- and off-campus. This role will take ownership of incident tickets and service requests and work with customers and colleagues for resolution/fulfillment. Additionally, the position will participate in on-call and other shift rotations during non-business hours to provide general audiovisual support for live and other special events.  

Responsibilities

  • Operates technical equipment in support of assigned audiovisual productions of live events, including free and ticketed shows open to the public, Symposiums and other professional conferences, and special events, as well as internal staff meetings and Board meetings. (60%)
  • Operates technical equipment in support of assigned audiovisual sound/display and presentation systems in theaters, conference rooms, public areas, and any special event spaces both on- and off-campus. (20%)
  • Participates in systems engineering tasks as well as short- and long-term projects under the direction of management, consultants, and service providers. (10%)
  • Other duties as assigned. (10%)

Minimum Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual/Broadcast Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

 

Minimum Years and Type of Experience:

2+ years hands-on experience supporting audiovisual requirements for live event production, special events, and enterprise audiovisual technology environments.

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

In-depth knowledge of audio/video and related computer technologies required for live event production in theaters and other spaces, special events, and enterprise audiovisual technology environments. Ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to changes in schedules and priorities. Ability to participate in multiple projects concurrently from inception to completion with limited management supervision. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines. Strong customer service, troubleshooting and problem solving a must.
